It can’t escape anyone’s notice that we really love our campfires. Over the last several months we have discussed many different approaches to building campfires for both warmth:
- All night campfires
- Self feeding fires - the upside down fire and the logs rolling down a ramp (not a very catchy name!)

Just about all of these more specialised campfires need you to cut and use pretty hefty logs. If you have a big truck you could always take your chainsaw camping with you (we have seen this quite a few times). If space is a bit more important and especially if you are backpacking and travelling light you are going to need to carry a camping saw.
