If you have spent any time here on Camping Sage you are sure to have seen that we regularly include articles on all terrain campers. Today we are taking a look at the Earthcruiser. The maker of the Earthcruiser - which is based on a Mitsubishi Fuso platform - claims it is “the World’s Most Amazing Adventure Vehicle”.
It’s got some really tought competition. In the past we have featured:

So, how does the Earthcruiser FX stack up? As usual - we are going to leave you to decide for yourself.
The manufacturers pitch says:
“EarthCruiser makes some of the most incredible and capable vehicles on the planet. Based on a 4-wheel-drive Mitsubishi Fuso platform, the EarthCruiser FX averages 15 miles per gallon, has a 1000 mile range and can carry enough fresh water to keep you off the grid and self-sufficient for months at a time. Founded in Australia and now based in Bend, OR, an EarthCruiser should be on the short list of vehicles to consider if your dream involves selling your house and traveling the globe for years at a time. “
It seems true that the Earthcruiser has impressive water extraction and purification capabilities. From the video it would also seem to have top notch solar panels - capable of providing enough power for the lights and fridge even on a dull wet day. The fuel economy also seems pretty good for a vehicle of this class and size.
For us, the video doesn’t do enough to tell us what sets the Earthcruiser apart from the competition. Our vote stays with the F550 based Earthroamer.
