2016 EarthRoamer XV-HD Ford F-650 - Even More Luxury - Even Tougher

The most popular post on this site - ever - was all about the F550 based Earthroamer off-track, luxury camper.

It doesn’t matter how often we say that we are not really fans - we are much more on the “Camping means tents” school of thought - the fact remains that, until now, the F550 Earthroamer was the most popular post.

Cabelas’s Alaknak - Sleep 8-12

All of that could be about to change. Not to put camping in tents at the top of the pile sadly - our idea of luxury camping is the Cabela Alaknak large tent.

Instead we think the Earthroamer XV-HD is going to rapidly move to the top of the stack.

From the manufacturer:

F-750 based XV-HD. Designed to accommodate up to 8 people and boasting burly off-grid/off-road capabilities, the HD provides a much needed alternative for those looking to explore the back country without sacrificing space or amenities.

EarthRoamer has been designing, building and perfecting the Xpedition Vehicle since 2002. The current XV-LT model has been a huge success with 150 trucks on the road and a proven track record for performance and quality. With the XV-HD, EarthRoamer takes the luxury off-grid concept to new heights. Featuring massive solar arrays, a huge battery bank, 46” military tires, 200 gallons of fresh water, washer/dryer, and so much more all on a four wheel drive F-750 chassis, the HD is the ultimate adventure rig.

“The HD is our most innovative product yet,” says Tyler Tatro, President and COO of EarthRoamer. “It will utilize state-of-the-art construction and systems to bring comfort and functionality to the next level.”

Take a look - what do you think? How do you think it compares to the Earthcruiser?
