Getting closer to nature is one of the great joys of camping. Away from the hustle of city life it is amazing just how much closer to wild animals you get.
We have featured posts and videos on encounters with bears - like this Alaskan bear that, quite serenely, sits down next to a camper or this baby bear that wanders into a campsite and simply plays with the washing bowl. There’s also this post on fisherman being charged by a bear.
So it’s fair to say that we are pretty cool with sharing camping with animals.
Nothing prepared us for the sight of a 4foot monitor lizard ambling into this family’s tent. Maybe the best bit of the whole video is the very half-hearted warning the cameraman provides.
Watch out for the excited squealing at the end…
