Nothing keeps spirits high during a long camping trip than sharing some jokes around the camp fire.

Well, here’s five personal favorites that’ll hopefully ensure you’re all set for the long nights ahead. Or at least for the 10 minutes or so it’ll take to tell them (feel free to embellish as much as possible - that’s all part of the fun of camping jokes.)

1. The swearing children

swearing children joke

A family is camping out in the woods, and in the spirit of adventure the two children, aged six and four, have a tent to themselves. As they’re going to sleep that night, the six year old tells his younger sister that as they’re basically grown-ups now with their own tent that it’s high time for them to start swearing. She enthusiastically agrees, looking up to her brother as a miniature role-model. “Great,” says the brother, “I’ll swear first and you join in after.”

The next morning they gather as a family for breakfast before hitting the trail, and the mother asks the older brother what he wants for breakfast. “S**t, I dunno Mom, I guess I’ll have Trail Mix” says the six year old. The Mom is furious and screams at the young boy so aggressively that the child runs back to his tent in tears - he’s never seen his mother that angry.

The Mom turns to the younger sister and sternly says “And what about you, Young Lady?” The sibling, visibly shaken says: “I don’t know, Mom, but it wont be f**king Trail Mix!”

2. The running injury

An experienced ultrarunner is experiencing incredible pain all the way up his left leg. He hobbles to the doctor’s office, well aware that he needs to get this fixed so he can get back to training without excruciating pain.

The doctor puts his stethoscope to the runner’s shin and hears a tiny voice saying ‘Doc - lend us a dollar’. He moves the stethoscope up the knee and hears another distinct voice: “Can I borrow 20 bucks Doc? You know I’m good for it.”

The doctor shakes his head and tuts, as the runner looks on with a worried expression on his face. He moves the stethoscope up to the thigh and sure enough another voice pipes up: “Hey Doc - I’m a bit short. Can I have five bucks?”

“Well Doc, how bad is it?” asks the ultrarunner…
